Secret Ingredient for Egg Biryani Recipe

Egg Biryani Ingredients

  • Eggs: 6 (boiled)
  • Basmati rice: 2 cups
  • Onions: 1 cup (chopped)
  • Tomatoes: 2 (chopped)
  • Yogurt: 1/2 cup
  • Green chilies: 2 (chopped)
  • Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder: 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder: 1 tsp
  • Biryani masala: 1/2 tsp
  • Oil or ghee: 1/2 cup
  • Water: 4 cups
  • Salt: 1 tsp (or as needed)
  • Sugar: 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves: 1/4 cup (chopped)
  • Mint leaves: 1/4 cup (chopped)
  • Bay leaves: 2
  • Cloves: 4
  • Cinnamon sticks: 2
  • Cardamom: 4
  • Garam masala powder: 1 tsp

Instructions

1. Prepare the Eggs

  • Boil the eggs and peel off the shells. Set them aside.

2. Soak the Rice

  • Wash the basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.

3. Heat Oil/Ghee

  • Heat oil or ghee in a large pan. Add bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and cardamom. Let them sizzle.

4. Fry the Onions

  • Add the chopped onions and fry until they turn golden brown. Then add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Fry for a few more minutes.

5. Add Spices

  • Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder. Mix well.

6. Add Tomatoes and Yogurt

  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then add yogurt and mix everything thoroughly.

7. Add the Eggs

  • Add the boiled eggs to the mixture. Stir gently and cook for a few minutes.

8. Cook the Rice

  • Add the soaked rice to the pan. Pour in 4 cups of water. Add salt and sugar. Cover the pan and cook on medium heat until the rice is fully cooked.

9. Add Herbs

  • Once the rice is cooked, sprinkle chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves over the top. Mix gently.

10. Finish with Biryani Masala

  • Finally, sprinkle biryani masala powder on top for extra flavor.

11. Serve Hot

  • Serve the egg biryani hot with raita or salad. Enjoy! 😍
