Egg Biryani Ingredients
- Eggs: 6 (boiled)
- Basmati rice: 2 cups
- Onions: 1 cup (chopped)
- Tomatoes: 2 (chopped)
- Yogurt: 1/2 cup
- Green chilies: 2 (chopped)
- Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder: 1 tsp
- Coriander powder: 1 tsp
- Biryani masala: 1/2 tsp
- Oil or ghee: 1/2 cup
- Water: 4 cups
- Salt: 1 tsp (or as needed)
- Sugar: 1/2 tsp
- Coriander leaves: 1/4 cup (chopped)
- Mint leaves: 1/4 cup (chopped)
- Bay leaves: 2
- Cloves: 4
- Cinnamon sticks: 2
- Cardamom: 4
- Garam masala powder: 1 tsp
Instructions
1. Prepare the Eggs
- Boil the eggs and peel off the shells. Set them aside.
2. Soak the Rice
- Wash the basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
3. Heat Oil/Ghee
- Heat oil or ghee in a large pan. Add bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and cardamom. Let them sizzle.
4. Fry the Onions
- Add the chopped onions and fry until they turn golden brown. Then add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Fry for a few more minutes.
5. Add Spices
- Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder. Mix well.
6. Add Tomatoes and Yogurt
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then add yogurt and mix everything thoroughly.
7. Add the Eggs
- Add the boiled eggs to the mixture. Stir gently and cook for a few minutes.
8. Cook the Rice
- Add the soaked rice to the pan. Pour in 4 cups of water. Add salt and sugar. Cover the pan and cook on medium heat until the rice is fully cooked.
9. Add Herbs
- Once the rice is cooked, sprinkle chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves over the top. Mix gently.
10. Finish with Biryani Masala
- Finally, sprinkle biryani masala powder on top for extra flavor.
11. Serve Hot
- Serve the egg biryani hot with raita or salad. Enjoy! 😍
